The California Online Directory (COLD) web-application consists of three main components: “Home”, “State Entities”, and “Employees”. “Home” gives Directory’s general information as well as Organizational Chart. “State Entities” allows searching agencies information in accordance with their department. “Employees” is a search tool for looking employees’ first and last name, email, phone number, city, and entity information.
Initially, entities are listed in alphabetical order.
Each entity that has one or more sub entities is expandable. Public users can expand it by clicking “+” sign to the left of entity’s name.
In order to view entity’s information, user can click on “i” sign to the right of entity’s name.
This search tool allows to look for an employee using any of the following information: first and last name, email, phone number, city, and entity information. For instance, if Public users are looking for Curt Augustine, they can enter employee's full name and they are going to get the most specific result.
Public users can also partially enter any of the above listed information. Thus, “August” will give a much broader search output.
